Counseling Intensives/Immersives

We all know how hard it can be to tackle the big projects in our everyday lives. Be it something looming at work or an involved home improvement project, quite often the big impediment to getting things done is simply: time.  I think the same can be true with therapy. Sometimes, we need to look at ourselves as projects.  Intensive sessions allow us to put aside everyday distractions so we can focus our undivided attention on an issue or a tangle of issues with a greater likelihood of breakthrough. Giving yourself the space to work with it for a protracted time can help you get in the healing zone.
Untreated emotional wounds create feelings of anxiety, depression, second guessing yourself, feeling angry or resentful, lonely, or unmotivated. Traditional 60-minute therapy can be immensely helpful, but can create challenges when the pain from your past remains activated in between sessions. Instead of the often frustrating stop-and-start nature of regular therapy, where you often have to end the session right as you are "getting somewhere," you will be able to address several inter-related issues in the same day. Intensives offer accelerated and deeply transformational therapy in a short amount of time. They are focused and targeted on specific goals, and outcomes. This style of therapy provides an expansive path, one in tune with the natural ebb and flow of transformational healing.

I respectfully acknowledge that we work, live, and play on the unceded, ancestral lands of the Cherokee, Shawnee, Choctaw, Chickasaw, and Creek Nations.
I encourage you to learn about these lands via native-land.ca.
Additionally, this land has significant and traumatic connections to slavery, which cannot be excised from our history.
I practice from an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed lens and believe that these legacies persist in spite of continued efforts towards racial justice, equity, and liberation for ALL.
